In my first design ‘Mid-Day in Monaco’ (Green and Pink)I imagined the lines of white art deco balconies reflecting in the water of an oval shaped swimming pool with palm leaves and exotic flowers falling in the water. The large beads hanging in the front of the design are oversized and a reference to the beautiful illustrations created by the likes of Erte. I chose the places and the times of day to contrast two designs. The narrative had started in my head and I had the  story to hang my designs from. I’m now imagining dancing in Miami and lounging on a yacht in Monaco! 

For my second design ‘Midnight In Miami’ (Navy and Pinks) we are moving into the 1930’s! I’m looking into another pool and this time seeing exotic fish swimming in the cool dark water. Its dark and its hot, just imagine you are walking along south Beach past a beautiful beach hotel like The Nautilus in its heyday….with the bright excited lights giving the lush jungle foliage a technicolour glow around the edges of the water.
